We got there and were gutted to be told its too cloudy to go up to the Christ, hey at least we tried
! So we made it back to the hostel in time to get ready and nap. The samba party was awesome, such a taste of Brazil like a mini mardi gra! We were expecting like a tiny hall and an awkward dance lesson, this was way better! Loads of stalls in the streets selling food and alcohol, musicians on every type of drum and hundreds of dancers including samba girls in very skimpy clothes. It was a great buzz and a sense of community so glad we went. I was planning on going to bed after but now I was feeling in the mood to dance so we stopped off at the hotel to pick up Pedro the barman and went to Lapa. Lapa is usually good for streets party's but its pouring again, I hide under Thomas' umbrella rather than taking a not so fetching rain mac.
We go to a local club, we look like the only gringos there and get on it immediately dancing the night away and all for £3! It's our last night all together and we made the most of it especially when trip favorites such as wonderwall, tsche tsche and gangnam style came on we all danced like idiots! Eventually the club started to get empty it was like 5am so we got into taxis and went home. Such a great night, if I was in Rio longer I would go out every night it's so cheap and awesome fun!
Oh my god so hanging! All of us had a lay in today I made it to breakfast with 5 minutes before they shut and I'm the early bird. We all wanted to do nothing today, Yemi told us there was a Macdonalds and a Starbucks up town so all of us hungover were in agreement that this would be the best hangover cure. A short bus ride later we were munching on nuggets and chips, I got my caramel macchiato which I have been craving for weeks, I've not had Starbucks since Cusco in Peru! By about 4 we decided to go, we had a samba party in the favelas at 6:45. Me Bunsi and Priya decided to try and get to Christ the redeemer as its not raining and we leave tomorrow so while the others went back to nap we got a long bus ride there. The whole time Priya asking people on the bus who didn't understand which stop we needed.
