Drove up the back road through Connor Pass - oh my goodness the road was narrow, tiny and steep sides that I was glad I couldn't really see as the edge seemed too near! Too foggy to see anything at summit so we kept going out to Brandon Point. Hiked up to a sort of ruin, R slipped and twisted his knee (oh dear) on grassy slope down
Popped into Crean's Brewery on way down (much nicer being on inside of narrow road on way back!) as it's pretty cool being Dingle's own brewery.
Home for feet up but because it was so nice out - walked to Brian De Staic's jewellery to pick up my wonderful memory piece.
Stopped for tea on way back home for another feet up before heading out to dinner at the Old Smokehouse and more music!!
Sooo lucky to bump into our Mary at the B and B before heading out who carefully said NOT to go to the Smokehouse - go to Doyle's and oh my goodness yet another fabulous meal. We both had the special - cod that was perfect. Interesting test of patience with 4 Americans next to us. We actually moved tables after tolerating their loud, racist, homophobic, and anti feminist comments for just so long. Just too hard to understand why they have to be that way. Lovely waitress helped us.
Then back to The Courthouse for more music. We were just going to stay a bit but a few hours later!!!!....owner Tommy O'Sullivan (guess he even tours the USA!) and his mate Jeremy on the fiddle provided absolutely wonderful music - we had a second evening of great fun and even shared a bit of it with Americans Paul and Laura. We will miss this Pub!
...and to bed late again :) but filled with true Irish experiences.
