Bha 2 hour sleep but on we go. Found the Hop on/Hop off bus stop, waited a bit and decided to walk down the hill. The "boys" negotiated a deal for the posted rate (ha! "Deal") as the prices had “just gone up but because we were a group, he gave us the posted rate.  Good deal for 2 days, boat journey's included should we decide to do that.  Had a great ride about – quickly learned that the area we were in was just the loveliest of all the areas we went through.  Enjoyed seeing the gal at the top of the Gillert Hill with her olive branch - then over the Chain bridge into Pest.  Hopped off and found our first coffee break place – just outside St. Istevan’s Basilica – for yummy ILLY cappuccino’s and latte’s.  R being teased unmercifully about his literally "rotten" green back pack and the hunt for a new one.  Also, his overeager need to pick up a bottle of wine.

Great view of Budapest from the top of the Basillica – saw the mummified hand  - heh – but a very beautiful church.  John trotted down the stairs, we rode the elevator – had a giggle with a great Scottish chap on the way down.  Met the “policeman” on the street (statue) while trying to find a place to eat - eventually just turned back to have lunch in the café just below the Basilica – our first and ohh so yummy Goulash soup.

Lanett’s  – "find a place for a glass of wine to talk about where to have dinner" – has become a great plan.  Local wine’s are great – sweet waitress recommended pizza bread as a snack – sooo good!

Decided to check out where to eat – funny places but after John’s scouting out – from Rick Steeves – chose a great place - #21 Hungarian Kitchen.  Fabulous salads, pike, etc – food great, company fun – Will be a continual joke – John’s story about the extra hump on the camel while in Egypt – HA!!
