AND you were right Dan - parts of the hike are nuts!!! we did Corniglia to Vernazza - VERY rough footing for 90 minutes but day was sunny and beautiful - just kept us going - met a young couple briefly - he kept singing "On the road again".
Oh Brenda - we have to learn how to make pesto like this!
And yes, found our trip treasure (s) in an Art Gallery in Riomaggoire - not even 3 beer purchase Chuckles - will see if I can upload pic.
Super fun catching trains back and forth, exploring each little town for all their uniqueness. Kept thinking, the next wee town cannot be as picturesque, different, special but yup, each time we entered either on foot or by train - yup, another Italiano Supriso!
Love the tables so close together that it forces conversation in restaurants:
-British couple escaping 4 children - determined to walk the next 90 minutes on full bellies and wine (hope they made it)
-Canadians that we quietly did not meet eye to eye as big ears Bevin overheard that they had A & W franchises in Alberta - sorry but my judgemental side kicked in ESpecially when they ordered ketchup to put on an amazing veal meal and insisting on cheese with a certain seafood speciality. YEH the waiter said it would ruin the dish - alas - she insisted. Curious that some people cannot simply enjoy the differences in other countries!! and ohh now I'll never go to an A & W after hearing what they put in food to 'stretch' it and yup! Rich just rolled his eyes at me.
-Interesting gal and Mom travelling together - young gal''s hubby is international paraplegic ping pong champion!! I'm not kidding!! and she lives in the French Alps teaching English and violin - born and raised in Montreal!! I told you there's a book to be written.
Man we are so blessed to have all these experiences and so much more!!! so much, so full.
