Another new country awaits ! We had a beautiful sunset on the South China Seas last night and now we are met by a pilot for the 4 hour journey along the Saigon river into Ho Chi Min City. The Daily News letter asked that we may encounter some listing as there were tight turns in the river ahead, so we should breakable items are secured in our cabins.  We wondered what the roller coaster of a river ride we were in for ! seems due to the width of the river and amount of traffic the ships stabiliser are retracted for it's journey.
The Captain would announce each time he would be making a Port of Starboard Turn and amusingly told us to "Hold on Tight" but to be honest we felt no difference at all in the list of the ship so I think it was all rather a preventative cause of action just to be safe.
All types of vessels were visible on both sides -  Container vessles, small fishing vessels, all manor of grain and other commodities slowly making the journey upstream.
