Another quiet and relaxing day enjoying the lovely weather, quite deceiving when the wind is blowing on the top deck to forget just how hot the sun rays are, how some people can lay in the sun all day amazes me, we duck in and out of the pool to cool off, then in and out of the shade. It is 33 degrees today phew!
We have a guest speaker on board from Radio/TV Jenni Trent Hughes, I missed her talk yesterday as was adding the finishing touches to my craft project. Jenni also attends the craft class but had to dash off to prepare for her talk. I am sure there will be another one before we disembark. Talk that is !
Our lovely tour manager Mark arranged an informal/casual cocktail party early evening,
it was nice to meet up with everyone again, we see quite a few from the group around the ship and on excursions but had forgotten some of the faces
Mark is such a helpful guy and each day when we are sea you can find him outside the library mornings and evening, when in port the evenings, he is always ready to hear about your day, listening to what you have been up to and giving advice when and where needed. When you are on a cruise it would be easy to lose touch with your fellow travellers but Mark is not only "at his post" every day, you will always see him around the ship and always has time to say Hi & have a catch up.
Another themed evening, this time Nautical - our table companions don't always participate in these themed evenings so David & I are usually the topic of conversation as we arrive for dinner in our colourful attire always bring a smile to their faces.
We have very nice dining companions Ruth & Paul - a Christmas Tree Grower and full of great stories that always bring laughter to the table and then we have Sue & Gordon both retired teachers, initially a very quiet couple but after a few evenings with Mr. & Mrs. Christmas Tree David & I they soon started to show their sense of humour and we all jelled very well together - only Gordon would appreciate the mention of portion sizes of Ice Cream & Jacket Potatoes and Paul how many Ice cream scoops and Lychess so when they return to UK & read this hopefully they will recall those lovely meals together.
It is now Sunday and the money box project finally completed. I did a decorative design using images from a Fred Olsen cruise brochure, as you will see from the variety of boxes produced a lot more creative ideas were made but I was pleased with my effort although I think for another cruise I would need a much larger money box !
