Monday May 11 and Tuesday May 12
-Well, S is all set up in his apartment. We did a little last minute shopping and now the first of my 3 birds has officially left the nest. I'm a bit sad, and a little worried when I think too much, but mostly I'm proud that he's ready to start his life as a "grown-up".
-Monday night we treated my sister K and her husband D to an excellent dinner at Joey's near Polo Park. They have been a great help to getting S settled, and it will be great for S to have family nearby. After dinner, N flipped D the keys to our Endeavor, and D took us on a mini-tour of Winnipeg.
-Tuesday morning N and D did some tweaking of S's apartment set up, and then my sister K played tour guide and took N and me to The Forks. We had a delicious lunch and then did some sightseeing and photo-taking. We were only there an hour or so when my cell phone rang. It was S. He too was at The Forks, in the antique shop, and had found a pie birds (which I collect). So we quickly went over and met him ... and now I have a new pie bird for my collection. K and I had fun with our cameras, trying different settings and different pics. I love my 18x optical zoom, and my macro setting.
-Next: onto Regina... the holiday officially begins!
