Withdrawal symptoms

Grandma and Grandad Potter´s day :)
Today I must have driven the nurses crazy, every 5 minutes I was pressing the buzzer and asking for a damp flannel for my forehead, or a cup of water for my throat. To them it might have seemed as though the Typhoid was not clearing up as expected, but what they don´t know is that I was going through withdrawal. Today was my 4th day without a Borrachito. You must understand, a headache and stomach cramps, a dry throat and the shakes had nothing, nada to do with having typhoid, oh no! I am convinced of this being my punishment for being more than a little partial to the tiny chocolately treats. I almost had to tell the nurses of my slight addiction, I heard the words "...worsening... another day for observation...", but fortunately, a day-dream of what my stomach desired made me perk up a little, and the thought that if I didn´t get better soon I would be separated for even longer, from the little lights of my Peruvian days, did the job, and I got better! Whoever said chocolate wasn´t good for you? XxXxX
XxXxX

Glad You are Better (reply) May 20, 2007 16:14 EST by alisonsauer
SOooooo glad you are better Beth - we were very worried! You'll have to figure out HOW you got it and avoid it again! (dirty water, veg and salad washed in dirty water, being served food by someone who is a carrier and didn't wash their hands after the loo....etc)
All the best - and LOTs of chocolate!
Alison xx
PS 'glad you are better Whatever-2 Johannes xx'

chocolate (reply) May 20, 2007 06:30 EST by carole1
What will you do without them when you come home? I thought you said they were nice and big, not the tiny things you describe! Lots of happy seratonin!

So glad you're ok! (reply) May 19, 2007 19:35 EST by georgev
All I can say Bethany, is thank goodness you're out of hospital and in the real world again! I (among others) have been so worried about you and I'm just glad that you are nearly there! Oh and today is Sunday 20th May 2007 - half of your trip has passed and only half remains!
Can't wait to see your smiling face again! Go get yourself some chocolate as soon as you can - and that's an order... show all
