Machu Picchu!
Entry 39 of 90 | show all | print this entry |
Edd Verney´s day :)
Well guys, today I went to Machu Picchu! Actually it wasn´t that simple.... I got up at 6.30am, got a train to Aguas Calientes (4 hours to travel 110km!), at Aguas Calientes I then caught a bus to Machu Picchu (thankfully, only about 30minutes), and then I went to Machu Picchu! I don´t even have words to decribe how incredible it was. Actually I do: Go to www.new7wonders.com and vote for Machu Picchu!
Seriously though, it was breath-taking to think that all the stones were cut by hand, moved by hand and used to build such amazing structures! All that on the top of a mountain in one of the most inhospitable mountain ranges the world has! (Breath-taking but also slightly glutton-for-punsihment-like, if you ask me...).
I took about 300 photos, which will be uploaded as soon as I am back in the land of the sane (England, of course!), so maybe the pictures will make up for my lack of words :) Lots of love to everyone, Bethers xxxxx
Y después fui a Machu Picchu!
Muchos besos, Bethany xxxxx

I'm glad it was worth the long journey. I am curious as to whether you have to take your food for the day with you or whether there is a guinea pig stall at the top!!!!!!!!!!!!
