What do you do when its so hot outside that you dont want to walk around the streets when its light outside in the middle of the day? Well, go to the Hungary thermal baths. I went to Gellart Baths, which are quite old and famous. There were really hots baths, cold baths, and the hottest sauna I have ever been in in my life. There was even a wave pool outside (im sure that hast always been there). It was great, and actually felt fantastic in this weather. I fell asleep by the pool and went in and out of the warm and cold baths.

Some things i've observed. By traveling alone, i really am listening to everything and taking in the culture. I notice that even two people traveling together spend more time talking to each other than seeing the sights. Also i tend to place myself in situations that will challenge me. I try and find menus that have no english (which is harder than it seems), and talk in the few words i know (im up to about 15 hungarian words).

I know there was a bunch of things i was planning on writing, but right now i'm drawing a blank. I loved Budapest, and could actually spend a few more days here, which suprises me because usually i dont like cities. Maybe i've learned how to really see and enjoy cities. Tomorrow i head to the mountains of Slovakia for about a week then Poland , then Prague, then off to South Africa! I left out the Baltic places i really wanted to go to because there was an issue of traveling through Russia or Belarus. So Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, are probably my next trip - anyone want go?:)

gomalaka
what's really interesting is that together brian & catalina make a cheesewheel, I meant to give them one for their wedding....yes have fun in the motherland with all the babooshkas....my incredibly bright history teacher in high school told me that gamolka or something similar was a communist dictator or something, so either you should be really careful how you pronounce your name, or just be beth smithski (adding ski to any name will get you a free drink at the polish bar)...did you hear about the new disneyland in europe? they put a fence around poland...
