Made my way down to the Amalfi coast of Italy. Its supposed to rival the French Riveria and let me tell you its amazing. Huge dropping cliffs straight into the water and towns built between them. The roads are right on the edge of the cliffs and riding the buses around with crazy italian drivers on vespas and people walking on streets that are as big as a one lane road in the us is just exhilarating.
Im staying a a hostel basically one hill around the corner from Amalfi and its great. Ive never met friendlier people in a town, or in a hostel. Ive been seeing the sights with the girls in my dorm room and its been fantastic. Did a hike up in the cliffs to a town with great views, swam in the ocean and sunbathed on the beach that is 100m away from the hostel (ive got a good tan now) and today made the trip to Pompeii. That place really blew me away. To see a town from 2000 years ago that is so well preserved with frescos on the wall and body casts and pottery, was just something you have to see to believe. I am so glad I went. We actually walked around the place for about five hours I was so struck by it. It was hot but there were shady places to stand. I got the audio guide only because the girl i was with was getting one, and it most definitely was worth it. It really brought the site to life.
I forgot to mention that when I was in Barcelona I actually took a trip to the Salvador Dali museum in Figures (thanks Nick!) and it was such a cool museum. The whole building was a work of art. I will definitely load some pictures when I can. I cant believe that I return home in six months today (the 25th) and that ive practically been gone a month already. I really feel like I could just keep going for a very very long time. I wake up each day around 6:30 just so excited for the day and stay up until 11 or 12 absorbing it all. Ive never had such motivation to wake up and be so excited for a day to begin, and be able to go to sleep feeling so completely fulfilled. So far this trip has far exceeded my expectations, even with the minor mishaps here and there, and the little annoyances that go along with hostel life, it honestly has been so amazing im almost speechless:)
