We arrived at the very glamorous Caesar's Palace last night and had a mildy short adventure as it was rather hot and we were rather tired. Our hotel room was benormous and boasted very fanciful 80's decor and terrifying bathroom.
This morning, after a reasonable sleep due to the girls in the adjoining room whooping all night, we checked out of the hotel them nipped to a large shopping centre so that I could lick the widows of all the lovely shops. After the obligatory Costco trip we filled the car to the brim with sun lotion, climbed into it like a creamy swimming pool, then headed across Arizona Grand Canyon bound
The journey, initially, was pretty uneventful with the majority of it being on long straight roads past amazing desert and the like but then we hit a huge traffic jam and were informed, by a very American woman in a truck, with we dog, that there was a huge queue as they were closing one lane due to an accident. Being cocky we decided to ask sat nav for another route and scooted off the freeway only to find ourselves on an 'enter at your own risk' road an smack dab in the middle of a 'Hills have eyes' esq film totally soiling ourselves.
We, eventually, made it out alive and carried on down the free way with rainbows and sunsets and elk.
We are now pelting along the road, nearing the hotel at the Grand Canyon and watching the lightning light up the sky, which is a bit incredible really. Our intent is to get up before sunrise and drive to the aforementioned gret big 'ole, take some photos of the stars and then the sunrise and then was back to Vegas as Dan is looking forward to a day by the pool and a night on the casino tiles. I intend on confusing out fellow casino goers by altering my accent every 35 minutes or so, which will only get more flamboyant and ridiculous I sink more cocktails. Might try and convince them I am one of those Americans.
We hope everyone, cats included, are doing well and we shall write again tomorrow, as long as we don't inadvertently Thelma & Louise it off the G. Canyon.
Much love Annie and The Grand Danyon x
