Show trip route
The day started with us heading over to Universal Studios in very British weather, (over cast and wet & hotter than an otter's under clothes). I was instantly terrified as even the car park had to have something to do with dinosaurs in.... Now, for those of you who do not know; I have an extremely irrational phobia of dinosaurs, T-Rex's being the beasts I fear the most. Some may find this stupid, I care not. I have no fear in admitting that they make me wet myself in public and they literally haunt my dreams. With that in mind, Dan felt we should go on the Jurassic park ride to get it out of the way. I am not ashamed to say that I kept my eyes close for a good deal of it and nearly climbed out of the boat when the T- Rex leapt out at us in the dark
We also went on various other rides and on the tour of the studios themselves where we could see where a number of films were shot and how they did the special effects and such like. Foud ourselves in ANOTHER Jurassic park scenario where we were spat at by the little flappy throat dragon that killed the fat guy in the film.
After that we hunkered around some of the props used in various films, of which I photos for some of you, and then we mooches him past the Bubba Gump Shrimp joint where I had to buy a 'stupid is as stupid does' sun visor which had a beer bottle opener on on the inside of the peak. I found this positively enchanting, and plan on hicking it up in Fritchley when we get home.
We then drove bak through Hollywood and went up into the hills to take a photos of the big letters. Someone who lived there got very angry as cars were parked accross their driveway and they couldn't get into their house. They shouted at me for it. I responded that we had been there but a mere moment and they went all apologetic and backed away slowly. I think they thought I was Dawn French and, therefore, must be worshiped.
Dan intended on taking me for a drink at the beautiful beach there but after an hour and a half of red traffic lights which Beverly Hils is adamant they must have every 27 yards, I had turned purple, so we just went straight back and went to Red Lobster where I say chatting to the chaps in the tanks, before eating on of their mates.
It is now morning and we are about to thrash about in local art galleries before checking out of LA and driving up the pacific highway to Manteray to watch some whales playing billboards or what ever it is they do. Promise not so many photos tonight....
Big thank you to Hagbag back home xxx
