Bernie

I have just come back from white water rafting, and luckily for you guys, I got free photos!!! I was supposed to go yesterday, but they forgot to pick me up, so in compensation I got a disc to carry around the world with me (Woohoo), but a free disc none the less. Worth $40, may I add.

So white water rafting, is SO fun. The rapids were grade 5, which is the highest grade you can raft commercially (Yes, the grading runs from 1-5) We went down the worlds largest commercially rafted waterfall, at 7 meters. The raft is really quite pointless, and the ores even more so, as you pretty much jump over this waterfall and the raft makes no difference to whether you go under or not, but it is possibly one of the most fun things I have ever done in my life. Us around Rotorua
Us around Rotorua
There were two guys in kayaks that go down the river with you, in case you fall out of the raft. But they let us jump out and get on the back of their kayaks and go down a waterfall that way. That was immensely fun, but I was concerned for the well being of my feet and legs. I also got to sit on the front of the raft at one point and hold on while we went down another waterfall. Rapids are so fun, and they aren't too scary either. I would definitely recommend this adventure sport, and if you don't fancy 7 meter waterfalls and an immense amount of white water, you can just raft a grade 3 or something (BoRING).

My rafting experience was also an inspiration. Don't get too excited but I have just invented the BEST adventure sport in the world. I can't write it here because its SOOOO good, I think some one might steal the idea. But the plan is, go to university and then come back to New Zealand to pioneer my immense sport. (I'm planning the logistics of it already.) Seriously, its a good idea. Anyway, up with the photos, hopefully....

White Water Fun
As I said, saving for the tickets already. Might even get you Mum interested in a grade 1, 2 or 3 (not forgetting all that experience she's had on the Wye) Can't wait to hear about your latest idea. Off bungee jumping now I guess? Got to go now (to work, tickets to by an all) Blog again soon. Love Dad xxxx
