Slept on the car park of Piha, facing the beach. Amazing site with black sandy beach. Also visited the falls nearby and Karekare beach (the beach of the film "The Piano"). Both Piha and Karekare beaches have a sand as black (from the volcanic basalt) as the Whitsundays are white. You can really feel some weird vibe on Karekare.

After that, we started a quick visit of Auckland with the easy climb of the Mount Eden. Great views of the city, included the mythical (for rugby lovers) Eden Park.

I have not written a lot lately but I hope the photos speak for themselves. After one week, the North Island is definitely the most beautiful place I have ever seen. It is a mix of Ireland greens, Tuscany hills, dinosaur forests, Malaysian Islands, impressive snowy volcanoes... and much more. IŽm not sure the photos give justice to the beauty of all the places weŽve seen and I have not mentioned the friendly locals. New Zealand should be on everyone štop 5 things to do before I dieš. IŽve ticked the box.

24th: flight to Christchurch for a solo discovery of the South Island.
