The 650km were very pleasing with a big variety of landscapes, plenty of kangaroos (more dead along the road than jumping around but roos nonetheless), sugar canes fields...
The Whitsundays are definitely among the most beautiful beaches in the world. There´s no doubt. We spent a full day snorkeling with surprisingly beautiful corals, swimming one meter away from a green turtle and colorful fishes. Also enjoying a BBQ on this paradise. The sand is actually 98.8% silicate (the bones of the corals) making the beaches pure white and amazing.
One of the highlights was the time with the white parrots (cockatoos). They are everywhere on the coast and particularly loud at 6am and 6pm. Anne imitation of their dialect helped and 5 or 6 of them were suddenly very close to us, on the balcony.
