This is really a nice place and a lot better than expected.

It is 10c the night and 23c the afternoon and I really appreciate after months in the high 30c. The city is relax and there´s a good first feel about it. The people seems very big (not fat but tall and big). After 6 months of seeing only tiny and very slim people in Asia, it feels weird to be the small one.
They are also much more disciplined than I thought: walking in order on the left side of the street, queuing even better than the English, crossing the road only once the green man is on display...

I´m sure I´ll have no problem staying here for a bit. They are plenty of activities in the city and around (whale watching...)

First things first: I cooked a proper 500g "rare" Rump steak with pasta and mushrooms the 15th evening. It was in very good position in the list of "what I miss the most after 3 months in India and 3 months in SEA¨ and it was absolutely THE BEST and my mouth is still watering now thinking about it.
Second thing second: I´ll cook another 500g "rare" Rump steak within the next couple of days and will add some red wine (wine is probably 1st on my list).
It is probably boring for those reading me but for me it is maybe more important than being on a paradise beach.

1st week:
Not many interesting things to say about my usual weekdays here but I like it.
Went to the opening concert of the Brisbane Festival on Friday evening, to the South Bank market on Saturday morning, Racecourse road "Street Music" on Sunday...

It is very impressive the awareness the Australians have for their environment. They love the animals, are very careful with water consumptions, save energy and recycle everything. It is very much part of their daily life.
They also seem very active and you find a lot of people on bicycle or running. With this weather and the proximity to the beach, you´d want to look good too. By the way, I officially lost 20kg: from 88kg the 6th January down to 68kg today for 174cm. I´ll try to stay that way, no more, no less. With the ultra healthy fresh food and few runs during the week, it should be no problem.

2nd week:
This second week is not very nice due to a poor weather: 16c and rain every day with my allergy annoying me all the time. Nevermind.
Another thing: the worst that could happen just happened, the only thing I could not replace just disappeared. Trying to make a transfer on a laptop, I lost ALL my music in my ipod without having any back up. Gutted.

3rd week:
The third week is cold (around 15 to 20 degrees the afternoon) but really dry and sunny. Less problems with my allergy and I plan to go to Noosa this coming week end.
The Queensland Art Gallery is a very nice and pleasant place and the collection of Sydney Nolan works was very interesting. Australia Zoo Monday 4th and "Picasso and his collection" at the Gallery Of Modern Art very soon. I forgot I ever had an ipod and I think I enjoy more not having it.

4th week
I´m bored now as there is not much else to do so I´m preparing the future travels and I booked everything below:
- Week in a Camper van from Brisbane to Sydney with Pilar
- Week in another Camper van to do New Zealand North Island with Pilar
- Return flight from Auckland to Christchurch
- 10 days in a third Camper van to do New Zealand south Island solo
- Week in Tahiti (dorm)
- Return flight Lima Cusco mid October
- 8 days trekking in the Andes in October: Choquequirao - Machu Picchu. One of the best treks in the world!!!

I´m going to Cairns the 11/08 to spend 2 weeks with dad and Anne. Perfect timing. I can´t wait!! NB: depending on the situation, I may find it difficult to update my blog during these 2 weeks.
