Hue, its Citadel, Tombs and Pagodas

Travelling with Carlo since Hanoi, we arrived at Hue the 10th. Met some Americans who made me try dry buffalo meat from New Mexico and I have a funny stomach since then. Nevermind.
I like Hue and its Citadel. It is a peaceful place along the Perfume River (cool name for a river, innit). The bars are OK too, and I spent the evening showing my gift on a pool table. As expected, the morning after was difficult when we had to wake up at 7am to go on a motorbike tour to visit the main - and superb - Pagodas and Emperors Tombs. Hue was the capital from 1802 to 1945 so there is no lack of nice monuments around. The light but constant rain made the sightseeing even more fun.
Vietnam is really good, a positive mix between the energy and modernity of Thailand and the authenticity of Laos. I heard a lot about how tiring the people can be, always after your money... but after India, it does not affect me. I like their attitude, their food, their hat, the architecture, the landscape. A lot of people talk about the traffic jams in Vietnam but even if the streets are often full, it is never a stand still and they drive on the pavements if they have to. It seems that the Vietnamese always find a way.
As you can see on the photos, we don't see much of the sun anymore. It rains every day and sometimes for quite a while. No complaints here as it gives another view on the country and there is less tourists.
