We arrived yesterday in this village like capital. We were offered some food on the way: fried bats on a stick and other non identified animals's body parts (no need to say we skip this).
Found a cheap but not so clean guest house and my allergy started again. Instead of finding a better room, I think I'll try to find a pharmacy.
Went out until 1:30am with guys from Bordeaux which was a bit too much for some Guest House manager, closing at 11:30pm. Sorry... but it was worth it as we played table football, pool and talked to locals with a drink.
Vientiane seems nice but I can feel the boredom coming in 2 days as I need to wait until the 5th for my flight to Hanoi.
The weather is difficult with high temperature and high humidity which does not help my allergy. Still find the strength to do some sightseeings, chill out by the river... can't complain. Also found some fantastic places to eat with a sesame baguette, real brie cheese, pate de campagne, pains au chocolat... Heaven!!! A real treat every meal.
The evening we went to a French restaurant, having une entrecote with ratatouille + cheese (yes!!!!) + profiteroles + cotes du Rhone. These pleasure are so intense when you've been far away from home for several months.
Went to our "usual" local pub and even clubbing. The night out finished at 2:30am when we were out of the club looking for an "after". It is already very lucky to have a club in Laos so we won't push too mush.
Seb is going South tonight by the night bus. It will feel strange to be alone again after so long (4 weeks since Chiang Mai). It could be a short feeling because I'm supposed to see Carlo, from Germany, once in Hanoi so we can try to do the Halong Bay together. One thing is certain is that I need to reduce the daily fat eating and beer drinking in Vietnam. I don't feel as healthy as I was 2 weeks ago.
