This is really a great festival. Thousands of people in the streets, throwing water at each others (in a friendly way).
Chiang Mai is surely the best place to be because the city center is within canals so there is an unlimited water supply around the main streets.
Unfortunately, I have no photo to share as it would be unwise to walk around town with anything that does not like water. You get absolutely soaked within 10 min, which is nice when you know that it is 41 degres here. HOT!!!

Went out again yesterday (until 5am or something like that ) with Sebastien, his French friends + Irish, German, English and locals. My head still hurts but few buckets of water will surely help.

Galien, Seb and I will try to check for a bus going to Laos but with the New Year festivities going almost all week, it will not be easy....

Finally no bus checking but party all day, throwing water from the back of a pick up with loud good music. It was a fantastic experience. Amsterdam is surely the place to be on Queen's day at the end of April but there is no doubt that I would not want to be anywhere but in Chiang Mai for the Thai New Year.

The 14th was maybe even better: spent probably most of the time pushing each other (included one military guy) in the dirty canal and drinking Chang beers, like true Thai people do.

Shame it was too risky to take pictures because the scenes along the canals were just surreal. Amazing to have been part of it.
