That's where it all starts. Preparation already feels like traveling: reading book and websites, buying gear, getting vaccinated... The build up gets more and more exciting.
Even if there are a lot of unpleasant stuff to deal with: moving house, furniture, sort out bills and taxes, the stress is already behind.
The RTW should look like this:
- 6th Jan: London to Delhi
- Visit Delhi, Agra, Rajasthan
- 4th February until 29 Feb: volunteering in Jodhpur
- 4th to 11th March: Mumbai with maman and Gerard
- 12th to 29th March: going south: Goa + Hampi + elsewhere if I have time
- 30th March: Mumbai to Bangkok
- Visit Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia
- Thailand again but south and go through Malaysia to Singapore
- Maybe go to Philippines at some point from Bangkok or Singapore if I've got time (unlikely)
- Spend most of July and 1st week of August crossing Java and in Bali
- 8th August: Bali to Cairns via Darwin
- Rest of August around Cairns with papa and Anne
- Travel south to Sydney
- 15th September: Sydney to New Zealand
- 17th October: New Zealand to Tahiti (I actually arrive in Papeete the 16th thanks to the change of date when we cross the "International Date Line" of the Pacific Ocean)
- 30th October: Tahiti to Santiago
- 16th November: Santiago to Quito. I may change or cancel this flight to go to Ecuador through Peru instead
- December in Ecuador + Galapagos
- 19th December: Quito to London via Madrid: back in time for Christmas 2008
