Once we were done, we just decided to stroll around and whatever corner we turned, we would follow the road and take in Bologna. First turn, we stopped for a caffe, need the caffeine. We eventually made our way to the market area, where the stalls were full of veggies, and fresh fish. Also were the famous stores selling the fresh pasta, parma ham, and cheeses. We passed by Tamburini, which is noted in many travel books. Though we were not ready for lunch yet. So we kept on going.
There was a row of stores on the other side of a piazza that we had not seen yet, so we wandered over. One of the stores is called Mandarina Duck. Did not take long for Annette to find and buy a new purse. Our friends in Holland, Carmen & Edward introduced us to Mandarina Duck a few years ago. Now Annette can quack in happiness.
About an hour later, we made our way back to Tamburini for lunch. Even though it is more of a take out place, they do setup a cafeteria style area. We shared a delicious plate of assorted cured meats with parmigiano-reggiano, and then shared a bowl of fresh-fresh-fresh of tagliatoni just tossed with oil and parmesan. It was heavenly and melted in your mouth. We were content.
Off we strolled to do more exploring. However, we came across a nice place for caffe on a quiet side street. Had to have a ricotta tart to go with the caffe. Need the energy to keep walking. That's my story and am sticking to it.
We decided to walk following the bus route, in case we got tired. After awhile we came across the H&M store, and Annette did some shopping. Luckily for us, the bus stop was outside, as the shopping tired her out completely.
Now we are back at the hotel, about 5:30PM, relaxing and getting up to date on emails and this. Not sure what tonight will bring. Will check out a few websites and decide on Saturday's plans. Yes, the pictures are now updated. Enjoy!
