Where I stayed
Paradise Resort
For our final adventure in Nepal, we took a two-day rafting trip down the Trisuli River, adjacent to the Kathmandu/Pokhara Highway, followed by a three-day jungle safari throughout Royal Chitwan National Park. The last rapid on day two knocked all 8 of us out of the raft leaving only the guide inside to pull us all back in! Huge mountains mean huge rivers and Nepal definitely has some of the best rafting in the world.
Our modes of travel on this trip were as diverse as one can get:
Day One - Tourist Bus, Raft
Day Two - Roof of a Commercial Truck (AKA 'Road King'), Raft, Local Bus, Jeep (to Paradise Resort)
Day Three - Ox Cart (AKA 'Jungle Helicopter'), Canoe (Made from one single tree trunk by the local villagers), Foot, Dingy Boat Shuttle, Ox Cart, Elephant
Day Four - Foot, Bicycle (To 20,000 Lakes area)
Day Five - Horse Cart, Tourist Bus (Back to Kathmandu)
We survived the sweltering heat and even went running a few times during the day (What were we thinking?)....
Enjoy the pics.

elephant rides
i've always wanted to ride an elephant. was it rocky? Those are crazy ways to get around but sound really fun. Can't wait to see more posts, keep them coming.
Re: elephant rides
Rocky, not really. More like being on a huge mound of sand that shifted really slowly in every direction. When the big girl moved a bit and shifted her weight to one leg, we felt like we were going to be dumped off from the top. Nice viewpoint for sight seeing, though.....
