After a 16 hour break, time enough to enjoy a hot shower, a greasy meal, tons of New Zealand Beer and a good night sleep in RICK, we set off for another 5 days of hiking. The Rees-Dart Track took us along the Rees Vally, up and over the Rees Saddle and down the Dart Valley. The cold temperatures caused the snow level to drop, providing a dusting of white on all of the mountains. Just when we thought the scenery couldn't get any better.....
On day three, we took a side trip up to the Cascade saddle along the Dart Glacier - simply incredible. This was the only day out that we saw less than favorable weather, which was actually a novelty for us after days of sunshine.
We're back in Queenstown now and have enjoyed two days of luxury after 10 in the bush (Tom - Thank You, Thank You, Thank You). We'll set off tomorrow and head north for more hiking adventures.
We continue to be absolutely blown away by the landscape in this country.
Cheers and enjoy the pics.
