We purchaced a 1985 Nissan Vanette from an Isralie couple yesterday and could not be more excited. This is Max's third car and Benny's second. It has a manual transmission and the gear shifter is located on the stearing column. Max has to reconfigure his body in order to shift down to fourth gear. The back is extra spacious with a matress and plenty of storage room. The Radically Immense Camping Koala, aka R.I.C.K., came equipt with a stack of maps, two storage bins, and extension cord, silverware, an electric water heater, a matress, two pillows, curtains, a pot and plenty of style.
We're headed south today towards Te Anau and plan to backpack for the next three weeks in the Kiwi wilderness around Fijordland National Park.
On the road again, we just can't wait to get on the road again...

Cool Car!
What a hot rod! Maybe you should paint your logo (PLKII) on the back? How much in US $ did you guys pay for the car? Looking forward to reading more about your adventures and seeing the photo's. Stay safe and have tons of fun.

flames
Did you put the flames on yourself or are they Israeli?
Re: flames
Flames came with the ride, but we are in constant search for more decorations for RICK.
Re: Cool Car!
RICK cost NZ$1900, not sure what the conversion is. We've already put on a new tire, got an alignment and coolant flush, so it adds up. Gas is also about US$7/gallon here, but RICK gets pretty good gas mileage. For us, RICK is priceless...
