Another day in Washington DC!

We had much to do and little time to do it in. Fed up with walking, Abi wanted another option to get around. Our first solution was to find a bike rental place, however half way there Nic decided he was too much of a cheapa** to pay for a measley bike so Abi and continued on while Nic and Michelle turned about and headed for the Washington Monument again to pick up tickets (free btw, just need to pick them up!). We came upon the bike place after some poor navigation from Ben (I was only 1 street off! - Ben) and looked at the prices. They weren't bad, but something caught our eye. They did Tandems. Brilliant. We can have fun AND get places. So we got one and set off for the Washington Memorial to meet up with the others.

It didn't take us long and it was a really easy ride. After a brief discussion we started on our tour of the monuments (Lincoln then Roosevelt and finally Jefferson, with the Vietnam and WW2 memorials in there somewhere too). We got to spend more time at each monument although Nic was on a mission so he managed to keep up with us untill Roosevelt. Next on our list was the National Gallery of Art. Once again Abi toned things down so that I could understand what was going on and I could even appreciate a lot of the peices and the subtle changes... untill we got to the modern art stuff. Some, and I mean some I kinda liked. But then there were the white canvases and the white sink and what can only be described as a crappy looking light fixture (It was 5 flourescent lights next to each other - Ben) and I had to contain most of my opinions :P.

It was lunch by this point so we met up with the others and went to this place off the 'National Mall'. more pictures later.
