On the 7th of March 2008, Ben and Leah hosted a wild and wildly successful Going Away party at the Saracen's Hotel in Adelaide.
The evening began with a quiet dinner involving Ben, Leah and some close family. The dinner was a gentle precursor to the wild and uninhibited activity that followed.
From 8 p.m. the guests rolled along, and soon the tiny south city pub was pushing its usual Saturday night capacity. In the end some estimations had the attendance at close to 500 people, but later, more accurate estimations sat the numbers around 60.
By nights end, 3 drinks were knocked over, 1 glass broken, several 100 hugs given and our travel destination was explained around 60 times. In other words, it was a fantastic evening.
The revellers dissipated around midnight and the final group headed home close to 1:30 (a.m. of course).
Ben and Leah relaxed the following day with a cool, morning swim. Leah only had to save Ben from drowning twice.
We'd like to thank everyone who made the effort, the turnout was exceptional and we will miss you all very much. You'll see us again before you even know it!
