hiya all

its been a while since i put up some pics but I've finally got off my behind to do it.

News?? Well, with a few exceptions nothing much's been happening recently. There's been a few parties and a few nights out on the town, Benny and I visited Magali in Holland for a week and Matty Mc and Shaz have each brought plane tickets and come over to visit. Apart from that it's just uni, or a lack thereof (I currently attend uni for about 4 hours a week and spend, tops, 5 hours more studying. Its great but simultaneously horrible cause I get really bored and can't do anything cause I'm broke!).

As Magali is currently studying in Holland I thought it'd be a good idea to go visit her for a week and say hi and whatnot. However mag and I kinda fell through which meant Benny and I were on our own only two days in. So we went to Amsterdam and got ourselves a cheap and nasty hostel and had a look around. Which was great until we realised that Amsterdam is quite simply one of the biggest holes I've ever been to. The whole place just thrives on (male) tourists and quite literally every single shop is either a "coffee shop", a place selling smoking paraphernalia, porn shops, a surprisingly small red-light-district, pubs, clubs, hostels and a simply amazing number of fast-food places. And with all their general crassness and flashing neon signs we reckon that Amsterdam has about as much charm as Britney Spears. And to top it off we found that the Dutch were all a grumpy and rude lot of people who just annoyed us by being so, well, grumpy and rude.

We concluded that unless you're there to indulge yourself in either drugs or women there's absolutely no reason to go to Amsterdam.

Anyway, after 2 or 3 days of indulgence (and a huge amount of fast food) Benny and I hopped on a train to get the hell outta Amsterdam and start exploring the rest of Holland. We found out that the surrounding towns and cities are actually much nicer and have some of the charm that I suspect Amsterdam once had an abundance of.

And,, ...yeah. That's Holland. It sucks. Don't go there.

In other news, Benny and I are now both proud and excited owners of Eurail train tickets which enable us unlimited train travel over a 2 month period to pretty much any city in Europe. So we're currently planning to check out the ridiculously cold northern sweden before christmas then make our way down to Spain for a week, then a few days in italy, a while in croatia, up to Poland to see Auschwitz then germany and then back home in the beginning on Feb. It should be great!

anyway, I hope you're all well and as usual i'll let the pictures do the talking...
