After hearing many complimentary about Wellington, and so far enjoying everywhere I have stayed, I was disappointed by the nations capital, and not for the first time. I think I am just going to have to accept that I do not like big cities and avoid them.

Not that Wellington was without it's charms, the Te Papa Museum was as impressive as I had heard, and the aerial photo display at Waitangi was very enjoyable by the artist Yann Arthus Bertrand. Each photograph having an passage underneath to remind us of the destructive nature of mankind in polluting and destroying what nature provided for us.

It's been nice to stay in one place for a few days recharge my batteries, and get a few good nights sleep but now I am itching to get back to nature, and see New Zealand's real beauty, the concrete jungle that is Wellington could really be anywhere.

My other problem with big cities is the hostels, they are normally big and soulless, and full of workers who have been at the hostel already for months, and with the rugby being played at the weekend, they also seemed to be full of arseholes, including one particularly offensive Aussie, who was effing and blinding at a young lady behind the counter.

Bring on the nature and Mount Doom.
