After a whole day travelling we finally arrived in Hampi at five-pm. This boulder strewn, recently reinhabited, settlement reminded us of the Flintstones - it was like living in Bedrock! The original stone buildings along the bazaar have been reoccupied in recent years but this hasn't dampened the heritage, it's a real step back in time. Archeological digs still continue to unearth further ruins and these excavations attract much tourism, though these sites are spread out over a large area so the place isn't too populated. We spent a few lovely days here wandering around Hampi enjoying the peace and had a gay old time!
