We were supposed to go to both Kumbakonam and Chidambaram today, but the other dithered around soo much on the way to the bus station in Pondi that we only had time for Kumbakonam in the end. The temples here are 'erotic' temples, and they make for far more interesting viewing for the casual visitor (not because I'm a pervert or anything!) The detail was far more elaborate and intricate in design, seemingly very well kept (i assume they are restored periodically or not that old) and there are many stories to be seem in the architecture i feel.  Having said i was annoyed about missing out on Chidambaram by the time the three of us had walked around all the temples, with the usual 'bullshitting' as we walked, we were all pretty tired and it was getting late, so at the time i was happy to leave Chidambaram for another day and we returned to Pondi.
