In segemat we walked through a rubber plantation, where the trees were being sapped, with Farah pointing out the various other trees on the way (the stinky Duran included) . After dumping out stuff at her aunties we had a wander around the village, with me eating various fruits on the trees around (no surprise there), wandering to he 'grandmas' house (it seems here everyone is a 'relative'). She was the sweetest little old lady, about 3 feet tall (seriously) and looked like the little lady from poltergeist would if she wasn't ugly and scary. She makes this really sweet coconut based dessert that is very tasty, but obviously very bad for you. It involves heating up the coconut and stirring it constantly for 12 hrs, then various stages of drying etc. The whole process takes about 3 days, not worth it if you ask me, but it seems to be a popular dessert here. We cracked a few coconuts for her (my favourite activity, didn't injure myself this time either).
Had a frustrating time spending hours trying to get a flight booked, then bought my train ticket for the next day.
Next morning Farah cooked me a special Malaysian breakfast of chilli's, onion and dried fish rolled into balls in flour then deep fried. We then left for our trains, on the way visiting the coconut grandma who gave us a shed load of that brown Shit (the coconut stuff, they boil it till it goes brown.).
