My god, second class Thai sleeper trains are soo comfortable; you get shitloads of room and the beds are soo clean, the sheets come in sealed plastic bags for gods sake! I didn't want to leave as I've stayed in rooms that were worse, and in Bangkok would probably be doing the same again.
Anyway, arrived in Bangkok hassle free, got some food and did some mundane chores, before bumping randomly into Alex and Iona who i met in Cambodia in Bang Lung. We basically bummed around for a day then got rather drunk on Khao San on cocktail buckets, resulting in me eating several pad Thais too many, before sleeping through till midday the following day.
Waking up feeling rather ashamed of my stereotypical piss head foreigner behaviour the night before, i woke up determined to do something today. Got my police report for my camera sorted and tried with no success to get an MP3 player charger, as thats all thats wrong with my MP3; the crappy charger, watched the Simpson's movie and that was another day gone.
Spent the bes part of the next day getting to the STA office in Bangkok, trying to make an insurance claim, only to be told (surprise surprise) that because i had my policy back home they couldn't help, and in fact their office in Bangkok is essentially useless, the staff might as well be cardboard cut outs. After this I'd had enough, so got myself on a bus to Kanchanaburi
