After 26 hours on a bus from amsterdam we made it into madrid. Aparently we had to change half way through the journey but for some reason that didnīt happen, Iīm not too sure why but I guess it was a bit of an omen about the rest of madrid. After checking in yesterday we when to the prado museum, not just to see the paintings but also because it was free, and Iīm cheap, like the duke. This morning we got up and started to look for breakfast and the tourist office. After stumbling upon the tourist office and realising that it didinīt really have much info unless your here to see an opera or ballet we made our way to cafe and asked for chocolate con cherros (not sure on that spelling) only to be informed that despite the menu and big sign advertising this for 2.70 they didinīt have any. We then went to another place and asked for crepes but apparently they didnīt have any either. Well i guess you canīt trust the signs in spain and looking around Iīd say you canīt trust your barber either. while the city may be home to some of the most famous works by artist such as goya I wouldnīt be trusting any of his spanish contemporaries with a razor and a pair of scissors. That said the people are nice and it doesnīt matter if you donīt speak spainish, they donīt speak english and so you stumble along and hopefully the tickets we just bought are for wednesday and going to seville. Thats about it for now, till next time.
