After my last entry, I went to reception in the hotel and explained about the bed bugs coming from my last hostel. They were brilliant about it and sent a man to my room with a hoover to hoover all the bags and take all of my laundry to be boil washed. The bites are going down now and although I am still getting a few each night, it's miles better than it was. Thank god I am in a posh hotel and not a hostel where getting all that done would have been a trauma.

I spent Tuesday night in my room watching some DVD's that I bought over here as you can hire a DVD player for 3 pounds and all my clothes were being washed so I couldn't exactly go out!!!

Went for a walk on Thurday morning to go to the chemist and the supermarket and guess what..... got lost again!! I thought my sense of direction was really good but obviously not! Luckily, the taxi's here cost about 60p to go anywhere so I just flagged 1 down and it turned out I'd walked straight past the places I wanted to go.

Spent the rest of the day by the pool (nothing new there) just chilling out and trying my hardest to ignore the awful balinese music that they have on in the restaurant next to the pool. It sounds like it's a 5 second clip of music that is on a loop all day and is really annoying. It sounds like a few kids have all got some instruments and played them together.

Saw Jimmy and Anthony at about 4pm and they said they were heading to Kuta for a Snow party!! which was 250,000 rupee's (about 15 pounds) to get in but free drinks from 8pm - 11pm. They asked if I wanted to tag along and I said I was well up for it (as you can all imagine). I had no idea what to wear though as it had to be something that I didn't mind getting wet and I have decided that I'm not very good at the 'casual, but slightly dressy beach wear' look. It was funny being out where everyone is wearing flip flops and shorts and t-shirts.

We got to the club about 9pm - 1 hour in to the free drinks - which obviously meant that my buffet panic was setting in. I swiflty quashed it by drinking as many cocktails as possible which meant by 10.50 I was very very drunk, but not drunk enough to not use the last 10 minutes wisely in filling our table with long island ice tea's which we had quickly deduced were the most alcoholic of the cocktails. Poor Anthony is still on antibiotics after having a stomach amoeba so was on water and fruit juice all night while me and Jimmy finished off the rest of the cocktails (although I think Jimmy had most of them as my drinking had slowed well down by this point).

When we were all suitably drunk, we danced the night away in a pool of foamy water with foam spraying at us like snow - very cool!!

I'm not sure what time it was when I lost Jimmy and Anthony (I later found out that Jimmy had just gone home and Anthony lost me while looking for him and then went home) but I found myself in the club on my own. But of course, in true Jo B style, I was not about to go home before the bouncers chucked me out so I went and danced on the stage and made some new friends who I then went on to another club with until about 4am. It was a really good night and because I switched to water after the 500 cocktails, no hangover this morning - bonus!

Not done much today (again!!) although the weather has been a bit rubbish. It has been cloudy all day and then the hardest rain I have ever seen started to pour down at about 7pm and hasn't stopped. I had loads of plans at the start of the week to peruse through all of the leaflets on activities and do a few at the end of the week but it's my last full day here tomorrow and I haven't even read all the leaflets! It's been a good lazy week though.

My final decision now is whether to brave going to the clubs again tomorrow night on my own. I met so many nice people in there that I could easily have hung out with if Jimmy and Anthony hadn't been there but I'll have to see how I feel tomorrow

Hope the weather is still good for you there (especially all the teachers who can enjoy the sunny days during 1/2 term)

Catch you later

Jo

xx

PS: I have now added some photo's to all of the entries so far so check them out - especially the one of my bite ridden arm - very sexy

Hope the bed bugs have gone (reply)

When we were in Oz, Stockport Suzanne who we met on a boat round the Whitsundays had had bedbugs. Can't remember where she got them from tho. Don't think it was Oz as they don't let you use your own bedding in most places any more because of people bringing in bed bugs from other countries in their sleeping bags. Apparently leaving your stuff out in the heat also helps get rid of them. Oh well... show all
