After Sienna we then headed off to find our Italian Farmhouse accommodation in the wilds of Vinci with a very basic map and an even basic understanding of Italian. After taking the minor road (accidentally) it took us 2 and a half hours to travel what should have been 1 hour to the general area of our accommodation. After stopping at a Deli and Gill doing charades with the lady, we had some very vague directions to Casa Italia thats if our understanding of Italian was right...

We finally arrived quite late to find that there was no one there and we were locked out. After several minutes of frantic phone calls the girls managed to convince the manager to come and let us in. Ah the fun and games of booking on Last Minute dot com.

When we awoke in the morning we saw that our accommodation was a classic Italian farmhouse set on the side of a hill with a beautiful view over the surrounding Tuscan countryside. In the distance you could see the town of Vinci (home of Leonardo). Shame we were only staying for one night.
