Finally a place to anchor and get away from the expense of Marinas. This area had two marinas with a rather large harbour area in which we anchored off the beach. The water is green with not a huge amount of visibility but cool and clean enough to swim in. The beach has a golden type of sand but with lots of algae type weed and rocks and very hot close to the shore. Not inviting enough for me to swim but the other tourists doesn't seem to mind. The apartments along the beach have a considerable amount of graffiti and a general dusty dirtiness pervades the town. We stay 2 nights and from the boat it all looks charming and we have a great time swimming and playing around. Harri spots a fair over the other side of town the first night and so the next night he and Pete take the dinghy over that way and spend an hour or so at the fair. Pete returns saying that side of town is much nicer and newer and there are nice shops etc over that way. That's the problem on a boat you only see what is reasonably close and within walking distance. They have a nice time going on a few rides. It's good for Harri who is not coping too well with homesickness and hatred of school to get out and have a bit of fun with his dad.
