We arrived Friday afternoon after an unexpectedly cold sail from Gibraltar where we had on tracky pants and jumpers. As we approached Malaga about 500metres off the shore we all started to strip down as the temperature suddenly soared and the wind become uncomfortably hot.
The only place for us to tie up was the commercial wharf and at $175 Euros a night we knew that Malaga was a definite short stay over. As this was Brett and Connies last night we went into town which is right there for dinner. Malaga has the most enchanting main street, closed to traffic with marble tiles and old fashioned lamps with flower baskets and sheets of material hanging overhead to give the feel of almost being indoors. It looked so pretty at night. As usual the Spanish including babies and children were out in force until the wee hours. Not a lot was open except for cafes but there were people just strolling everywhere.
There is a large fort on the fill and a park below which at night was lit up and looked spectacular or regret was that it was too expensive to stay longer and explore this place. Next morning we said genuinely sad farewell to the Glover's as they headed off to the airport for a flight to Paris. These poor guys the extra planes trains and automobiles they've had to do to catch us, I feel very guilty. Then its away anchor and we are once more on the move.
