Setting off for Senegal seemed strange after already seeing the country but we cant refuse the bargain flights back from Marrakech to Manchester so making the trek is also making sense. Sitting on bus after blooming bus for 30 hours as we went across countries to get to Thies in Senegal seemed far from sensible as my sanity was slipped away at the time but we made it and as soon as we did all memories of madness-enducing marathon journeys evaporated into explorations of an excellent town...

Thies is seen as Senegals second city but unlike Dakar it is sleepy and sweet. At the centre of a lot of the transport routes around here, we had passed through the place before but been unable to stop so as i had liked the look of it from the confines of a coach, stopping to see and smell-unfortunately a lot of car fumes-was fun!

We found a fab hotel which we made home and hung out in amongst the many school kids and amazing multi-coloured markets. Moving on to St Louis was set back a few days as we took time out to relax and reap the benefits of this beautiful colonial spot in Senegal.
