A smooth cruise to the calming shores of the Niger River in Segou were soon surprising memories when we narrowly escaped lost luggage and life-well maybe a slight exaggeration!-on the long leg from there to Sevarre. Settling in to Macs Reeuge soon sorted us out aset more memories became distant dreams...
Drfiting in to a concious state i smelt some exquisite cooking and couldnt contain myself after meagre morsels of mainly bread over the past few months. Mac met us at a table towering with pancakes, eggie bread, cereal and fruit all FREE!!! His father was the first Catholic missionary in Mali which amongst other things makes him an extremely interesting and charismatic character. Listening to tales of his time in Mali and his many hints and tips as well as the aforementioned feasts-fiesta night et al-was an absolute honour.
