Day 7
Today we had to be ready by 8 to go on the canopy tour.  We chose to do Selvatura because it is the only one that is actually all in the rainforest. The rest of the companies are closer to the dry forest.  So we got there and got all harnessed up and they even provided us rainjackets.  We were given a brief tutorial before they took us to the 1 cable.  The cables are really long and you are responsible for breaking by youself by pulling down on the cable behind you as you go with a really thick leather glove.  I'm not going to lie, it was pretty freaking scary so I chose to have what is called a Taxi, which is a person that goes with you and helps you.  Katherine went by herself and we kind of had an oh shit moment right before the first line.  After a few cables I decided that I could do it myself and went alone.  Which it turned out being more fun alone because you could see much better without another person attached to you.  Katherine did the Tarzan Swing.  Which is a swing where you climb up a few stories and free fall down a little ways before you start to swing.  The canopy tour was really neat because you kind of flew through the rainforest and sometimes you were alot higher so you could see down and far away.  After the canopy tour we ate at the resturant at the Selvatura Park.  And then we went on a hike through the rainforest on the suspension bridge walkways.  Which turned out being more scary than the canopy tour because you were by yourself for all the animals to eat you.  Luckily we only saw a few birds and some pretty big centipedes. The bridges were also pretty high up where you were able to see alot of the tree tops and down into the forest.  For dinner we ate at a cute little resturant called Resturante Mar y Tierra.  And we met Brittany and her family later and sat with them while they ate.  Tomorrow we are getting up early to go on a tour at 730 to go through the Monteverde Reserve with a guide and hopefully we will see some toucans and parrots.
