Day 4
Today we slept in after hanging out with our new roommates, Allie and Amanda.  They are two really cool girls that are orginally from California but now live in Portland, Oregan. Since it was a georgous day, and actually not raining we decided to book hiking tour to the Arenal Volcano.  A little background information on this volcano, as of five years ago the volcano did not exisit, then all of a sudden there was a small eruption and ever since it has been an active volcano, and now a lot of trails are closed because there is another volcano trying to form on the side. Anyways, our tour wasnīt going to start until 330 so we decided to walk down to the central park near a the church and go exploring and going into different shops.  Since it hadnīt been raining all day, it was really hot and after walking around a little while we decided that we didnt want to go on the hiking tour.  So after we got back to the hostel we were able to cancel our hike and get our money back.  So we decided to lay out and swim for a little bit then hung out in the hammocks and decided later to go to the lava tour at 8.  Which we were hesistant to do just because all the other people that had gone hadnīt seen anything because of the dense clouds.  But we went anyways.  And last night we were extremely lucky because there was hardly any clouds and were able to see some lava coming out of the top and going down the side of the volcano. Unfortunately it was so dark and there wasnīt alot of lava we couldnt get any pictures.  So after we got back Lauren stayed up to play cards with the other people in the room and Katherine took a shower and went to bed.  The other people that stayed with us last night were three people from Israel, two boys and one girl and one of the boys has been traveling for 7 months and the other two had only been traveling for 2. And there was also a guy from England.
Today we are off to Monteverde, where we will take a Jeep-Boat-Jeep to our hostel.
