This lazy Tuesday began with beautifully sunny weather, something you'd expect to find in the middle of spring - not in winter. As the day progressed towards midday , however, it started to become a smidgen overcast, so I decided to go outside for a bit of a walk before it had a chance to rain. The vineyards and train line just in front of these, both above our apartment, looked an appealing place to start!
The first route I tried was not so successful, landing myself in a cul de sac with private driveways doing the entire loop, and not one little path onwards! Second time lucky though; I walked along the road we use to access our part of the village, up to and under the bridge supporting the train line, and very soon afterwards came an access point to one of the many vineyards. The ground was a little slippery due to the mud (half of which ended up on the bottom part of my jean legs), but it was indeed a relaxing walk
I was getting a little hungry by this stage, but decided a change into clean shoes was in order before heading into the village shops to buy some food. I walked downhill 10 metres or so, right up to the train tracks, and followed them to the Bad Bellingen train station; from there it was under the bridge and an easy walk home.
After having made the short walk into the village centre, I soon realised that almost every shop (of which there is one bakery, one fruit n' veg cum convenience store, a post office and two banks), was still closed - usually until 2:30pm for their lunch break! Deciding that food was in short supply at home, and that waiting around was not an option, I thought I'd take a walk due West - direction France - to see what was available in that part of Bad Bellingen. Well, the answer became quite clear after about 10 minutes: Nothing. Nichts. Nada. Nil. Too early to turn back, I extended my walk for what ended up being another hour or so, through a little wander path and then again along the road back to the village. By this time the shops were all trading again, and I was able to pick up some bread, cheese and grape juice (that's not code for wine) - such a country girl!

. A couple of trains did pass by as I was walking along this dirt track, and I had quite the viewing and photography point from there! Where are said photos I wonder? Don't tell me that you have neglected your obligations...?
Yes, yes.
Haha. Actually, I stayed up until 1:30am this morning naming the photos - but to no avail. The blasted thing wouldn't upload and told me to 'contact my webhost'!! Not happy, Jan. I'm about to give it another go now.
