Imagine a big billboard with a really sad looking turkey and the line underneath say's "Think you're having a bad day? It's nearly Thanksgiving", ha, ha, ha. We totally loved it.

Thanksgiving has arrived and so have we, back in North Carolina to spend this holiday with Mike, Moni and the girls. They very kindly invited us to visit for the holiday. We love this holiday because it is primarily celebrated with food! Delish! Like I said previously Mike and Moni are total foodies and Moni made the most delicious turkey we have ever had, it was moist and perfect. She also had lots of great side dishes including beans with bacon, yum. Thanksgiving is also celebrated with pumpkin pie, Jesse loves it but Bek isn't the greatest fan (read, she hates it) so Moni made Toll House cookie pie, delish! Neighbours also brought around a whole assortment of pies for a shared dessert, it was great! Additionally Mike fired up the cob oven and made homemade bread, it was perfect.

We really enjoyed our Thanksgiving celebrating with the Hill family and friends, it was fabulous. We didn't just stay for Thanksgiving, Mike and Moni had to put up with us for a whole week, they were very gracious hosts. We had the opportunity to hike with Mike and Aggie up Mount Pisgah, a beautiful mountain in Asheville. It wasn't too difficult and was quite a rewarding hike, with us being the first people up the mountain for the day (as Mike says, no one can take that from us!). We also applied some more of our Permaculture skills and helped Mike with a friend's garden. We cleared out the whole garden area and rebuilt some new beds. It was a fun days work with a great looking result at the end.

The time in Asheville was also very helpful as we managed to get all our Christmas presents and packages organised and sent away in time for the holidays, we also caught up on the day-to-day stuff that we had been ignoring for a while, ha, ha.

Thanks again to Mike, Moni, Claire and Aggie who yet again showed us a great time in Asheville, we felt very comfortable and loved hanging out with you all. Your generosity is much appreciated. Next we will be heading South, back to the sun, if we can make it in time.

We hope you are all well and enjoying the holiday season, we are thinking of you all. Love and Peace, the Thankful, Bek and Jesse Train.
