~520 miles on the odometer...
Left VA this morning ~9:30am. All went well with the drive to Charleston, SC. Took about 8 hours. It was quite uneventful. I put all of my new techie items to the test...IPod, GPS, and my EPC, and they have passed with flying color. No more calling me a ludite ;)
I took 95 most of the way. And you know what, it is quite a nice drive the farther you get away from DC. The colors on the trees were amazing. It looked like an artists canvas with every color on the wheel. i didn't make any stops along the way as I wanted to try to see Charleston in the daylight. Didn't work out :( But it is still qute interesting in the dark.
Arrived at the Notso Hostel. Very nice. Clean and kind of quite (as the pounding bass is playing the background). Eh, what to you expect for $20. Upon my arrival my bunk mates were checking in. Two sisters from Sweden, Marie & Lisa. We went to Dinner at Joe Pasta and walked around Charleston (I forgot my camera so no pics). They are very cool chicks. This is one of my favorite parts of traveling, meeting like minded people :)
I will head out tomorrow for Memphis. I feel like it is the American thing to do, go and see Graceland! Before I go I plan to do a quick car tour of Charleson in the daylight, the whole whopping 2 mile downtown area :) They do have nice architecture for such a small place. (What I could see in the dark). Then I am going to see the Angel Tree. I think it is the oldest Oak tree in the South. 300 years old???
Ok, my bunk mates are tryng ot sleep and I am sure the ticking of my fingernails on the keyboard is driving them nuts. Off I go.
Bye!
