Day 109 - The bus dropped us off at Khao San Road at 8pm prompt and I went with Mikey to meet his friends from home.  I then went to find a room and got a vastly overpriced, grotty little room with air con you cannot control and a tv that has a volume up button which only turns the volume down! Thus resulting in me having to watch an Arnold Swazeneggar movie in complete mute!  I got some pad thai from the street, and although I didn't feel hungry, felt a lot better from eating some really food.  Settled down for an early night and some good sleep before having another long bus through the night tommorrow!

The hostel is just off Khao San Road, so the sound of Drunkard Brits being lairy and three different songs blaring out from three different bars rocked me to sleep!  Feeling tired and down in a pretty horrible little room, surrounded by horrible idiots I really couldn't understand why I had left Cambodia.. but it all seems better in the morning right?!

Day 110 - Yes, I do feel better this morning!  I had a great sleep in my grotty room and woke up to the noise of lairy, drunken Birtons still sat in the bars at 9 in the morning!  After booking my bus to Ko Tao for later in the day I got some rice soup for breakfast, followed by a morning online.  I strangely bumped into Mikey in the internet cafe and we said our goodbyes, which made me really quite sad.

Had a chat with two Irish guys during lunch who were also making their way to Ko Pa Ngan for the full moon party, and started to realise that just about everyone I was to meet in Bangkok and Southern Thailand would be British or Irish (and heading to the full moon party)!  Did a spot of shopping for essentials in the afternoon and just basically killed time as i couldn't wait to get out of Bangkok - I loved it the first time I came, and still love the most part now.. but after travelling for a few months my perceptions have altered and Khao San is pretty unbearable the second time around!

I was due to meet at the tourist office at 6pm for the direct bus to Ko Tao and got there 15 mins early.  40 minutes later I as still sitting there and thus began the most infuriating and drawn out process of catching a bus that I have ever experienced.  I was taken on the back of a motorbike with my heavy rucksack on my back and a girl with an enthusiastic right hand driving and was dropped at another office.  She swapped my receipt for a ticket but was then informed that myself and another guy would have to catch another bus, other than the one waiting.  I heard the other guy before I saw him and my first thoughts were "please don't let this arrogant cockney bastard be the other guy"... of course, he was!  So myself and Nathan followed a man all the way back down Khao San Road, past the office I started from, to another tourist office where we were told to wait.  We waited 30 more minutes here (by now it is 7:30pm) and it turns out that Nathan is a pretty cool guy - at least one thing was going my way!  A lady boy, dressed in a smart skirt suit and heels on his size sevens, ushered us to another tourist office, and swapped our tickets for another piece of paper! All this stress was making me hungry so I grabbed a pancake as we waited some more.  More and more people turned up until there was an enormous crowd spilling onto the street and at 8pm we could all start queueing to get our final tickets!  We got on the bus finally at 8:45, but didn't yet move until gone 9:30, and after 4 hours of trying to catch a God Damn bus, we were finally on our way!  Never have I been so keen to leave a place and boy, was it hard work trying to escape!

Tired and fed up I thought I would sleep the whole way, but by the time we stopped at 2:30am, I hadn't slept a wink!  Nathan kindly offered to swap seats with me but things didn't really improve and I was glad to arrive at Chumphorn pier 5am the next day!
