After breakfast, a shower and packing the tent up, we set off at 10:00 to go back up to Cape Tribulation. It seems the flooding experience did not put us off. As we were so close, we thought we may as well explore the region and it's many beaches. It was a three hour drive to the most northern point. After that, only 4WD are allowed on the roads.

We found another nice campsite. After we pitched the tent, we had some lunch in their cafe and then went to a local swimming hole, called Mason's Hole, which was beautiful. It was so quiet and peaceful with only a couple of other people there. Very pretty, it was a calm swimming area, surrounded in trees and rocks. The water was freezing but refreshing once you get used to it. There were two swinging ropes, which Mike and I had great fun jumping into the water with!

In the evening with relaxed on the campsite, played a game of pool and shared a bottle of wine in the bar. It was a very lively campsite, geared up for backpackers. They have dorm rooms as well as camping and more deluxe bungalows.

It has started to rain, which means a lot of the roads will become flooded, so I hope we can make it back down to Cairns tomorrow!
