We got up at 08:00, had breakfast then checked out. We hired bikes from the pousada and after buying our bus tickets back to Campo Grande for later that day, we cycled to the Balneario Municipal, which is the public pool, where you can snorkel in the stream. It only cost 10 Real to get in. We parked the bikes and feeling exhausted, dehydrated and sweating from the 7km bike ride in 30 odd degree heat, we headed straight to the stream for a dip. The water was freezing but exactly what I needed - it was very refreshing. Relaxing and watching the fish in the clear water stream, the sun was drying us off. After about an hour, it clouded over and looked like a storm was about to break so we headed to a nearby cafe for shelter. It did rain but it wasn't the storm that we'd been used to - massive downpour, thunder, lighting for half an hour and then blue skies again - this was just consistent rain, which had no sign of stopping. After about an hour, the skies still completely grey, we decided that we'd have one last look around and then cycle back. It was a wet ride back and after about 30 minutes of arriving back into town, the sun came out again!
We had a bite to eat and then went to catch our bus to Campo Grande, another five hour bus journey. We arrived in Campo Grande at 23:00 and got a cab to the airport, where we waited until 05:00 for our flight to Rio, via Brasilia.
