In other news, I sprained my wrist at the last basketball game. Let me tell you how weird my life is. I was playing basketball with all the regular people, and this time Andy decided to come too in the spirit of excercise. At this time we were doing a diet...anyway about half an hour in the ball has a strange and painful collision with Andys left thumb and we subbed out to go get some ice. As I am walking out the door, I think to myself, hey, there are only six stairs there, I could easily clear them.
So I run up and do this leap into the air (think triumphant...and suddenly....) when I come down Im like OH CRAP. My legs were apparently not up to the challenge of catching my weight, and I fall on the ground. I would like to arge here that I did a perfect Aikido roll, one like we were taught the previous week in my sports class, but instead of looking kakkoi (cool) I just looked dumb. As I was lying on my back with my wrist twisted under me, I thought, we are going to need more ice.
Anyway it turns out Andy fractured her thumb and I sprained my wrist. The woman at the hospital asked us if we had been fighting...
ANYWAY this week is the last week of school and I am so happy I might spontaneously combust. Tonight is a joint birthday party for French Alex and Maribel, from Honduras. It is Hawaiian themed...?
Anyway we went to this thing on Wednesday where we tried on Yukatas (Like a light kimono) everyone wears them in the summer. It was hilarious, we were shown how to put them on and then we did the weirdest dance in the history of mankind. I have to tell you, in the supermarket, they always play the same songs, and they are all cute and have TVs showing pictures of dancing bears or ham and sausages or whatever. Anyways the music for the dance was almost exactly like the music that is the theme of UNIVERSE which is where we shop for food. We just kind of bounced around in a circle and shook our butts. I have a priceless picture....that reminds me, I will upload all my pictures (and other peoples)during the summer and I have nothing to do but study grammar and watch Naruto while Andy is in Europe.
I have great plans for the summer actually. Most of them include learning more Japanese, which, despite being the reason for my being here, has been slipping, and now most of the colloquial Japanese I learn is from a BRAZILIAN! Thanks Andy,te bayo...
I have to go to my interview test now. By the way, that essay I told you I wrote the other week, filled with randomness, I TOTALLY GOT AN A.
I love Japan.
