Beck: Hey everybody! We,re in Pammukkale, which is famous (?) for it's white pools of mineral water, which the Romans turned into baths. Supposedly it't pretty spectacular, but I'll have to let you know later because we,ve only just rocked up an hour ago.
Our last entry was Konya, right? That night we bused to Antalya, which is really beautiful. There are mountains risig above a harbour full of mediterranean turquiose water. The harbour itself has been around since before Christ, and there are Roman ruins all over the place. It,s a real shame we came on a hazy day, so we dýdn't get to appreciate the full effect of the view. I liked Antalya a lot, despite it beýng very touristy. There were heaps of Germans for some reason, and lots of signs ýn German. The hotel we stayed at was owned by a man who spoke Turkish, French, Kurdýsh and some German, but no English. Bill and I only speak English, so we all had to do our best with our terrible high-school German and French! It was kýnd of fun, actually. Our taxi drýver today only spoke Turkish, and it was also kind of nice to not feel the need to make small talk or anything - the essentials could be communicated with very little conversation. For 35 euros he took us to a Karain cave, which was really talked up in the LP, but was honestly a bit of a fizzer. Maybe it would have been more impressive with a guide. The idea is that this cave has been continuously inhabited for 25,000 yrs and there are "many signs of human habitation." All we could see were some latin words and a face carved ýnto the wall. No paintings or anything like that. Oh well, ýt was a great výew anyway. After the cave, our drýver took us to the Roman ruins called Termessos. They were pretty spectacular, particularly since they were our first real ruined city.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, we hopped on another bus this afternoon and now we,re here. And I,m goýng to try to upload some photos! More thumbnails ...

Thanks for the comments Simon. We are always interested to hear what is happening back home. Even elections. Yes, Beck and I did a pre-pole vote. I think I voted some one of the independent candidates. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Great Photos guys, I must be the only one bored enough to check and comment on this frequently, or maybe everyone else are just lurkers. You haven't been missing much here in Adelaide...except an election...how exciting...did you postal vote? Anyway there was a swing to labour and they got back in with quite a large majority...I said it was exciting.
